The Court of Cassation in Italy confirmed on the evening of April 15 the 30-year prison sentence for 42-year-old Albanian woman, Elona Kalesha, who killed her ex-partner's parents in Italy.
The serious incident occurred in Florence in 2015, Sheptim and Teuta Pasho disappeared. The couple had traveled to Italy on the eve of the release from prison of their son, who was in a relationship with the defendant.
Upon arrival, they disappeared without a trace, while the disappearance was reported by their daughters.
The case took a dramatic turn in December 2020, when the bodies of the victims were found dismembered inside four suitcases in a rural area near the Sollicciano prison.
Throughout the trial, Kalesha denied the charges, but investigations by Italian authorities identified her as the main perpetrator of the crime. According to the prosecution that led the investigation, it is suspected that she did not act alone, but the possible accomplice was never identified.
With the latest decision of the Court of Cassation, the case is considered judicially closed.
