The Democratic Party of Kosovo has reacted after the Special Prosecution filed an indictment against the acting Minister of Regional Development, Fikrim Damka, for misuse of the state budget.
According to this party's MP, Ariana Musliu Shoshi, this is an important step towards shedding light on a scandal that PDK had denounced on June 1, 2022, through a criminal complaint filed together with lawyer Faton Fetahu.
However, Musliu-Shoshi considers it inexplicable that this indictment does not include Deputy Prime Minister Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz and Deputy Minister Liza Gashi, who, according to her, were direct beneficiaries through the "Germin" organization.
"That agreement, carried out with the consent of Ms. Schwarz, violates four laws of the Republic of Kosovo and damages over 1 million euros from the public budget," the PDK MP declared.
She has called on the Special Prosecution Office to investigate this affair to the end and carefully examine the role and responsibility of every official involved in the case, including Gërvalla and Gashi.
"PDK will continue to protect the public interest and demand accountability for any abuse of power and citizens' wealth," her response concludes.
