The Mayor of Lipjan, Imri Ahmeti, has reacted sharply after the statements of the vice-president of the LDK, Doarsa Kica-Xhelili, who justified his non-inclusion in the new party Presidency due to "health problems".
Ahmeti clarified that his departure from the leadership structures was a personal decision and not a consequence of his health condition.
He described the vice president's statement as incorrect and disturbing for his family and supporters.
"There was a statement from Doarsa that supposedly due to my health I am not in the new Presidency. To be fair to the citizens, I have had contact with the President Lumir Abdixhiku and I have personally withdrawn. I did not want to continue my duty," Ahmeti declared in a direct intervention on the "Debat Plus" show.
The leader of Lipjan explained that his position is related to the principle of non-multiplication of positions for certain individuals within the party, a position which he says he has also expressed at the party Assembly.
"I have requested that the positions of certain individuals not be multiplied and I have stood by my positions. Therefore, it is not a health issue. It is not humane to declare like this, nor do I believe that this type of information should be distributed in the field, which of course worries my family, the citizens of Lipjan and my colleagues," he said.
