World-renowned Kosovar director and actress, Luana Bajrami, along with the crew of her new film "Two People Exchanging Saliva", took to the prestigious stage of the "Oscar" ceremony to accept the "Best Short Film" award.

The film's directors, upon accepting the trophy with great emotion, also mentioned the Kosovo origin of one of the protagonists in the film, Bajrami, adding that it is a project worked on by a team composed mainly of women.

In the co-production between France and the United States of America, originally titled “Deux personnes échangeant de la salive”, Bajrami plays the role of Malaise. She is the central role in the black and white film, written and directed by the duo Alexandre Singh and Natalie Musteata. According to the synopsis, it imagines a dystopian Paris where slaps in the face have replaced money and kisses are forbidden, even punishable by death. When a young woman, Malaise (Luana Bajrami), starts working in a glamorous boutique, she quickly develops a relationship with a wealthy client, Angine, igniting the envy of her supervisor. A dark comedy about attraction and rivalry, developed against a backdrop of strange stylized violence, the film premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in the USA and received the Grand Jury Prize at “AFI Fest”, organized by the American Film Institute. The project’s executive producers are Julianne Moore and Isabelle Huppert.

The film "The Singers" was also awarded the "Best Short Film" award.
