The opposition protest in Albania began this Friday (May 8) as a peaceful march from the Prime Minister's Office to the Ministry of Interior, but ended with tensions and clashes between protesters and police.
Police forces had surrounded the institutions and blocked the march, as this movement, according to them, was not part of the authorization.
The situation escalated with the use of Molotov cocktails, fireworks, and stones by protesters, while the police responded with tear gas and pressurized water.
In the end, the protesters retreated towards the Democratic Party headquarters, continuing their calls against the Rama government.
