The Basketball Federation of Kosovo (FBK) held its regular Board meeting on April 28, 2026 in Pristina, where several important decisions were made for the functioning of the clubs and the development of basketball in the country.
In the official announcement, the Board has reaffirmed the necessity of strict implementation of the Competition Regulations, with particular emphasis on the organization of matches, safety in gyms and the behavior of spectators. According to the FBK, the responsibility for these aspects remains with the organizing clubs and relevant stakeholders, while any violation will be dealt with based on the disciplinary regulations in force.
Among the concrete decisions, the Board has obliged KB Sigal Prishtina and KB Peja to organize their regular election assemblies by June 26, 2026, in accordance with the statute and normative acts of the FBK. Also, all member clubs are obliged to hold their working assemblies within the same deadline, as part of the licensing criteria for the 2026/2027 edition.
Another important decision is related to the restructuring of the Girls' and Women's Basketball Commission, which will now function as an advisory body with a clear strategic and operational mandate. The Commission will be tasked with drafting a concept document for the development of women's basketball, in accordance with the FBK Strategic Plan 2026–2030, with the aim of increasing the participation of girls and women, developing talent and advancing the competition system.
Aulona Muhadri has been appointed as the head of this commission, while Vlora Braha, Jeta Zeka, Era Shatri and Agnesa Rrahmani are members. Their mandate will last in accordance with the period of the strategic plan, with a review of the composition every year.
At the same meeting, the registration of the ABC Basket club as a temporary member of the FBK was also approved, based on the decision of the Competitions Commission. The status of this club will remain as such until the final decision of the FBK Assembly, where the admission of new members requires a majority vote of the delegates present.
The Board's decisions entered into force immediately after approval, marking another step towards strengthening organizational structures and further developing basketball in Kosovo.
