Why is this happening? Should all these efforts have a name, in order to make the commitment meaningful? Well, the name of this commitment was sacrifice. In the current case, the meaning of the commitment should be state-building.

Not every conflict has neurotic elements. Some are healthy. However, the conflict between the SBASHK and the Government does not seem to be such. The strike in education that has been going on for a month now, with the union's demand for the sum of €100, addressed to the government with the justification of the inflation that the economy, including the family economy, is experiencing, does not seem to be a sufficient justification or an exhaustive argument. In fact, with each passing day, this strike is losing its meaning.
Beyond the explanations of daily politics, which serve for internal consumption, with a discourse in the service of friction, which positions the parties at opposite ends, I consider that we are dealing with a collective neurosis. The emphasis this time falls on teachers, although in this context almost no public sector department is an exception, aspiring for more salaries and bonuses. The budget is insufficient to fulfill all these vices, which transform this caste into a "Market Society" as the American philosopher Michael Sandel says.
I would like to clarify what existential emptiness is, and why I think this is, let's say conditionally one of the definitions of this condition! A term inaugurated by the founder of logotherapy, the famous Viennese psychologist, Holocaust survivor, Viktor Frankl. Frankl is widely considered the representative of logotherapy or the third school of thought in the field of psychology, after Freud with psychoanalysis and Alfred Adler with individual psychology.
Existential emptiness or lack of meaning is a phenomenon of the 20th century. The dynamics of development in recent times, the traditions that have so far helped man and society as a support for his behavior, are now rapidly disappearing, and for the individual it is a loss. No instinct tells him what to do and there are no more traditional instructions. To explain more deeply and clearly, Dr. Frankl takes as an example Sunday or as he calls it "Sunday Neurosis", in the sense of what it is a kind of depression that affects people who become aware of the lack of content during that day, after the momentum of the busy week ends and the emptiness within them is revealed. In past societies, Sunday was reserved for religious rites, going to Church, which constituted an important social activity.
This is, in short, the Meaning Gap, and I think that this is precisely how we could describe the behavior of teachers towards their orthodox stance on the €100 demand.
They have already been stripped of the meaning of practicing their profession, which by nature also has a missionary character, full of content, has already given way to greed, taking into account the socio-economic context, this is a search for pleasure, and a degradation of dignity. It seems that they have become objects, who no longer find meaning in the craft they do.
I would like to mention an argument that is quite illuminating: about people who, by doing volunteer work, working for the community, without any kind of material compensation, have managed to overcome personal crises, finding the meaning of their lives.
