On the eve of the long-awaited match between Albania and Serbia, which takes place today at the "Air Albania" stadium in Tirana, the winner of Big Brother VIP Albania 3, Egla Ceno, has also reacted with a message that is being widely commented on on social networks.
Through a post on Instagram, Egla called for calm, citizenship and prudence, recalling that sports and art should not be mixed with politics, despite the historical pain that Kosovo Albanians carry.
"Serbs have hurt our Kosovar brothers, but please don't confuse art and sports with politics (politics is a bitch)," she writes in her direct way.
Egla appeals for Albanians to show level-headedness and hospitality, avoiding actions that could be interpreted as provocations. She also refers to the symbolism of the eagle that has often sparked controversy in Albania-Serbia clashes, asking not to use gestures that could be seen as victimization or emotional reaction.
"We are Albanians! Strength with victory Albania!" she writes at the end, concluding her reaction with a motivational message and using the patriotic song "Xhamadani Vija Vija" as a background.
Egla Ceno's message is being widely shared online, sparking debate and reflection on the approach that should be taken towards national symbolism and the role of sport as a means of unity, not division.
