After numerous reactions and criticisms, the Board of the University Clinical Hospital Service of Kosovo has decided that the fee for using parking spaces at UCCK will be reduced from 1 euro to 50 cents per hour.
The decision has been welcomed by citizens, although many of them are demanding that parking fees be completely abolished.
Nexhat Qollaku considers the payment to use the parking lot within the UCCK premises unnecessary and a financial burden for citizens.
"It would have been better if it had been nothing because there are people here with illnesses nonstop, they have to behave, it's a heavy burden. Even here, being fined is not right," said this citizen.
Osman Sejfija also sees the UCCK's decision as reasonable, as it provides convenience for patients and their families.
"Thank goodness something is being freed up... If people come with reason, it would be nice. In the world, if you come with a duty and you stay for up to half an hour, one hour is free. There should be a fee for those who stay longer," he said.
Even Zahir Berisha, who works as a taxi driver, welcomes the reduction in the fee from 1 euro to 50 cents per hour.
"Well, 1 euro is too expensive.. It should be removed, especially for taxi drivers. We just get in and out. It should be zero," said Zahir Berisha.
However, UCCK announced that the price reduction was made in order to ease the financial burden on patients and their families.
"We inform you that the Board of Directors of the University Hospital and Clinical Service of Kosovo (ShSKUK), at the meeting held on 27.02.2026, has approved the amendment and supplementation of Regulation No. 01/2026 on the use of parking in the premises of the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK). According to the new decision, the parking fee is €0.50 from 1 to 60 minutes, as well as €0.50 for each hour of stay (€/h). This decision was taken with the aim of easing the financial burden for patients, family members and citizens who attend QKUK", it is stated in the response of the UCCK Media Office.
Previously, during February of this year, the Board of the Kosovo University Clinical Center (KUCC) had made a decision to increase the cost of using the parking lot at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCCC) from 50 cents per hour to 1 euro.
