Serbian analyst Dusan Janjic is insisting that a document on Kosovo and Serbia is being prepared in the United States of America. He said that he received this information from experts and politicians there. But what does American expert and professor Daniel Serwer say about Janjic's statement and the possibility of a document on Kosovo and Serbia being drafted by the Administration of President Donald Trump?

American professor Serwer, in a response to Gazeta Express, said that anyone can prepare a document for anything and perhaps Janjic knows this better. However, he is not very optimistic about the current Administration's commitment due to the political circumstances in the US.

"Anyone can prepare a paper on anything. Dushan probably knows better than I do. I don't see much hope for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue under the current circumstances and leadership," Serwer told Gazeta Express.

He added that he would be happy if he were surprised, while calling on Kosovo to be careful about what it wishes for, since the Trump Administration, says Serwer, seems more interested in power projection than dialogue.

"I would be happy to be surprised. But be careful what you wish for. The current US administration seems more interested in projecting power than in dialogue," says the Johns Hopkins University professor.

He adds that the Western Balkans region is far down when it comes to Washington's current priorities and that it is only mentioned when Trump wants to boast about stopping a war, which Serwer says did not happen.

"The Western Balkans region is very low on Washington's priority list these days. The region is only mentioned when the President wants to brag about ending a war that didn't happen," Serwer concluded for Express.

Serbian analyst Dushan Janic has recently spoken out again about a document that he says the United States is preparing for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.

He also said that his sources are experts and politicians.

"I stand by it, but there are some changes, and I know that the term 'Non paper' is famous for the Balkans and I use it, and for Aleksandar Vučić or other people. But this time I spoke about an American expert or congressman who is using the basis for the future dialogue. According to the information I have, the American Congress adopted the law on the Western Balkans, and it clearly states that an agreement on mutual recognition between Kosovo and Serbia must be reached. My sources are experts and politicians," Janjić said. /GazetaExpress/
