British MP Alicia Kearns, who often brings Balkan issues to the attention of the British Parliament, has this time warned that this region should not remain outside the United Kingdom's attention.
Speaking about the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kearns commemorated the victims of the Srebrenica genocide and said that peace should never be taken for granted, Gazeta Express reports.
She said that Bosnia has had a difficult year due to contested laws and the actions of the former nationalist president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.
"Last week, at the Council of Europe, I called on the international community to unite and commit to a secure and stable Bosnia, firmly rooted in the European family, where it belongs," she said.
But, in the end, she issued a warning for the entire region.
"But mark my words: we in this room must not take our attention off the Balkans. The threat of conflict remains ever-present," she said.
