Finally, face to face. The candidates for mayor of Pristina come tonight to Pressing at T7 in the long-awaited match.

The televised debate, which will begin at 20:45, will mark the first real face-to-face meeting between the current mayor and the one who aims to take his place in the leadership of the capital of Kosovo.

"The big duel of Pristina comes tonight on Pressing! Progress Rama versus Hajrulla Çeku; who wins, who holds on – and above all, who convinces the capital? Maybe we'll find out tonight from 20:45 on T7," wrote the show's host, Leonard Kërquki, in a Facebook post.

For some time now, Përparim Rama and Hajrulla Çeku have cultivated their antagonisms from a safe distance, denouncing each other for their actions and plans in the capital. They find each other on opposite sides not only in Prishtina, and their confrontation will be necessary to give substance to the differences and disagreements that divide their respective visions, but also the two political entities to which they belong: LDK and LVV.

The finale that will determine the direction of Pristina for the next four years is on Sunday, and the mayoral candidates come into this first debate in the main T7 studio with a narrow margin of votes. In the first round, Rama received 33.71% or 35,595 votes; his party, the LDK, came first in the capital with 29.10% or 29.063 votes. Çeku came in second with 33.21% or 35,077 votes, while his party, the LVV, finished third with 21.88% or 21,853 votes.

Tonight, the candidates are expected to aim to determine the outcome of what promises to be a tough race. The unprecedented nature of this showdown further amplifies the expectations and risks they already face.

The debate is expected to highlight each candidate's strengths and weaknesses, and reveal - surely - the critical phases of the confrontation that will make the difference at the ballot box on Sunday.

Who convinces Pristina?

Who is holding it?

And who loses?

The answers will probably be understood tonight, in two hours of debate.
