Political reactions to the nationalist rhetoric of the President of the Constitutional Court, Darko Kostadinovski, who said during the week that the Albanian language should not be used in the amendments to the law on road traffic where the “Safe City” was discussed, do not stop. The head of the parliamentary group of the ruling coalition Bekim Qoku said that his expressions had nothing to do with the debate that was considered in the session on the constitutionality of some articles of the “Safe City” where two initiatives of the two ASHs were defeated.
"This person tarnishes the Constitutional Court with statements that incite unnecessary nationalist debate, especially when they touch on one of our most important national issues such as language. He does not need this kind of protagonism, when we know that the judiciary has low credibility, he contributes to not trusting this system even further. He undermines the credibility of the Albanian community for this high institution of justice", said Bekim Qoku, MP for VLEN.
For the Albanian opposition, the most worrying thing is the silence of the Albanian position within the institutions in the face of the refusal to implement the Albanian language. Member of the leadership of the integrists Liridona Beqiri said that a late reaction on social networks is not enough, but institutional action and pressure are needed to protect this right. She said that any attempt to deny or relativize this right violates the dignity of Albanians and challenges the spirit of coexistence that holds the state together.

This is a mindset that refuses to accept that the ghosts of an era that history, the present and the European project of North Macedonia, have decisively surpassed and rejected cannot be revived! Last year, there was an interpellation raised by DUI deputies for the dismissal of Kostadinovski from the head of the Constitutional Court, but it was not voted on by VMRO, VLEN and ZNAM, nor was it included on the agenda for Session 59. VLEN said that the Constitutional Court is an independent body and it would be a dangerous precedent if Kostadinovski's dismissal were put to a vote in the Assembly.
