Member of the Presidency of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Vlora Çitaku, says that "public reaction and citizen pressure forced Albin Kurti to withdraw from his attempt to elect the President in a 'karate' style and to overthrow the constitutional order."
She wrote on Facebook that despite this, the incumbent prime minister "did as much as he could," referring to a post-midnight press conference held at the Presidency.
"Yes, last night he did as much as he could. He came out and abused the President's office. Albin, the President or the President-elect addresses the citizens from that hall. Not the Prime Minister nor the majority candidate," Çitaku wrote.
"Last night's performance clearly illustrated, in voice and image, that you actually see yourself as the only authority in this country: both President, and Prime Minister, and Minister, and Chief Prosecutor, and everything else. A shameful performance," she added.
