There have been reports that Bayern Munich were interested in Atalanta star Charles De Ketelaere, but updates from Germany suggest he is only an alternative to Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon.
The Belgian international had struggled at Milan after his initial transfer from Club Brugge, only to revive after moving to Atalanta.
So far this season, he has contributed five goals and seven assists in 40 official appearances for "La Dea", in what has otherwise been a difficult season for the club.
This also includes two goals and two assists in eight Champions League matches.
This has prompted reports that Bayern Munich are actively pursuing a summer move for De Ketelaere, a move he would find difficult to turn down.
However, German transfer journalist Christian Falk told "CFBayern Insider" that the interest exists, but has been exaggerated by the Italian media.
According to him, De Ketelaere is on the list, but remains only an alternative to the club's first target, while negotiations are ongoing for Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon./Express newspaper/
