Vetëvendosje MP Mefail Bajqinovci said that if the presidential election fails, "the blame and shame" will be on the opposition.
Trying to shift the blame to the opposition, he also used the phrase “if the opposition leads us to elections”, while not giving any answer on the responsibility of Vetëvendosje to emerge from this situation as the largest parliamentary group in the Assembly. Here he mentioned the invitations of his boss, Albin Kurti, for meetings with opposition parties and the requests to send names.
However, the Vetëvendosje Movement has not moved from its proposals for President, its two members, Glauk Konjufca and Fatmire Mulhaxha-Kollçaku.
"The opposition must reflect and not only go to meetings, but also have the desire to make solutions. And in this case, the solution is to become the president of Kosovo."
He said that the opposition must have "the desire" and not make statements that "we should go to the elections."
"This is not good because the country does not need to go to elections because it has stable institutions and the people should not be mistreated every six months in elections," he told RTV 21.
Asked which party Vetëvendosje insists on cooperating with the most, Bajqinovci said that there is no opposition political party that has "demanded that we cooperate more or less."
"We have sent them invitations, but you see that there are often statements that "only elections and nothing else". So, there is no reflection from the opposition."
Bajqinovci also described it as "absurd to go to the elections when it is known that we have just come out with a result of 51.1% for the Vetëvendosje Movement."
Asked whether with the two party members proposed for the position of President, Vetëvendosje is aiming to derail this process, Bajqinovci again accused the opposition.
"They haven't sent the names. The blame and shame lies with the opposition. The search for names has been made public several times."
However, he said he is convinced that there will be a solution because otherwise the opposition "knows" its fate.
"I am very convinced that there will be a solution to the President's issue. Based on what I am seeing. I believe that there will be reflection, because if the opposition leads us to elections, we know what their fate will be."/Express/
