The Alliance for Albanians (Arben Taravar's wing) has reacted harshly to the Ministry of Justice's decision to reject the request of Albanian students that the jurisprudence exam be held in the Albanian language.

According to the Alliance, the Ministry's reasoning that the exam cannot be conducted in Albanian as it serves as a test for active knowledge of the Macedonian language is "banal and legally untenable", contradicting constitutional principles and the Law on the Use of Languages.

The Alliance for Albanians expresses full support for the initiative of the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to North Macedonia, Denion Meidani, who through the message "SPEAK ALBANIAN, you bastard!" articulated, according to them, a fundamental right that is being unjustly denied.

Likewise, the initiative of the Ombudsman is supported, who has opened a procedure to review the case and has announced an analysis of the Law on the Use of Languages and concrete actions of the Ministry of Justice.

The reaction also criticizes the First Deputy Prime Minister, Bekim Sali, for his attempt to relativize the rejection by calling the Law on the Bar Examination "defective." The alliance emphasizes that the VALEN coalition is part of the Government to solve problems and not to complain about laws that it has been implementing for years.

The Alliance also raises questions about the role of the Speaker of the Parliament, Afrim Gashi, seeking clarification on why the petition of Albanian students was delegated to the Ministry of Justice and not addressed in the Parliament.

According to the Alliance for Albanians, with this decision, the Minister of Justice places himself above the Constitution, the law and state institutions, seriously violating the principles of the rule of law and the equality of citizens.

The Alliance for Albanians emphasizes that it will continue to stand in defense of the rights of Albanian students and the equal use of the Albanian language, as a constitutional right and not as a privilege that depends on political will.
