Kosovo Police have announced that they have arrested six people in Gjilan, who are suspected of aggravated theft.
The police in their statement added that, in this regard, evidence has been obtained that suspects that the same individuals were involved in at least one case of the criminal offense of "Aggravated Theft", while there are suspicions that the same individuals are also involved in several other cases of theft and aggravated theft, Gazeta Express reports.

The Regional Police Directorate in Gjilan, namely investigators from the Regional Investigation Unit in Gjilan in coordination and with authorization from the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjilan, as a result of a several-month investigation and intensive investigative actions aimed at securing relevant evidence and testimony, including the implementation of covert technical investigation measures, today, on 19.05.2026, have managed to identify and arrest six Kosovar male suspects.
During the investigation, evidence was obtained that allegedly involved the same individuals in at least one case of the criminal offense of "Aggravated Theft", while there are suspicions that the same individuals are also involved in several other cases of theft and aggravated theft for which police investigators are continuing their intensive work in securing evidence and fully clarifying the cases.
Within the framework of legal procedures and with authorization from the competent court, searches were carried out in several locations in Gjilan, Prishtina and Fushë Kosovë. During these searches, material evidence was seized, including three vehicles suspected of being used in the commission of criminal offenses, as well as mobile phones.
The suspects were interviewed in the presence of defense lawyers, while by decision of the State Prosecutor, all six suspects were ordered to be detained for 48 hours.
Investigations into these cases are ongoing.
