Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, after a meeting with the leaders of "Republika Srpska", also spoke about the agreement between Croatia, Albania and Kosovo. According to the Serbian head of state, the security situation "is more complex" because of this agreement, thus justifying his state's intentions to purchase even more weapons, writes Gazeta Express.

Regarding these statements by Vučić, in a response to Gazeta Express, NATO spoke. An official of the North Atlantic Military Alliance said that they call on the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, for Serbia to engage with NATO and neighboring countries in a responsible and constructive manner.

"Moving forward, the NATO-Serbia partnership must be a 'two-way street', based on mutual trust and respect, as well as a sincere commitment to regional stability. We continue to call on Serbia to engage with NATO and its neighbors in a responsible and constructive manner," the NATO official told Gazeta Express.

In response, NATO has mentioned its cooperation with Serbia, including the fact that the Serbian state has been part of the Partnership for Peace since 2006.

"Over the past 20 years, NATO and Serbia have developed extensive cooperation, supported by NATO's presence through a Military Liaison Office in Belgrade. We stand ready to further develop our relations with Serbia, in full respect of its policy of military neutrality. We are taking concrete steps, including participating with Serbia in a major NATO-Serbia exercise, which will be held next month," the NATO official continued.

Regarding the trilateral agreement Zagreb-Tirana-Pristina, NATO has said that they are aware of it, however, they emphasize that they are not a party and have had no role in the consultation process. This spokesperson also emphasizes that the fact that Albania and Croatia are part of NATO does not prevent them from concluding other additional agreements.

"The mentioned initiative is a trilateral agreement between Albania, Croatia and the institutions in Kosovo. We have taken it into account, but NATO as an organization is not a party to it and has not had a role in the consultation process. NATO membership does not prevent Allies from concluding additional cooperation agreements. And we welcome the continued commitments of Albania and Croatia in support of KFOR," the NATO official added.

Regarding the statements of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Croatian Defense Minister Ivan Anusic also spoke yesterday, after a meeting he had with his Albanian counterpart, Ermal Nufi.

Anusic said that the time has passed when someone dictated to a country like Croatia how it should develop its policies.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, after a meeting with the leaders of "Republika Srpska", declared that "the security situation is more complex" due to the operations and activities of the military alliance between Croatia, Albania and Kosovo.

In a post on his Facebook profile, Vučić warned that Serbia would purchase even more weapons and military equipment.

"We expect important visits and new contracts with other countries in order to place large orders for our army," Vucic wrote on Wednesday.

According to the latest data published by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), Serbia has imported more major weapons systems than any other Western Balkan country in the last five years./GazetaExpress/
