They met in the simplest possible way, in the high school library in Gondomar, and built their lives with quiet, careful steps, away from the fuss and luxury. But the life of Diogo Jota and Rute Cardoso, built with much love and sacrifice for 13 consecutive years, ended tragically in the early hours of Thursday, when Jota and his brother, André Silva, lost their lives in a serious traffic accident with a Lamborghini.
They were the classic example of a couple who shared everything together, from their days without fame to the heights of success. Despite becoming public figures, they never lost their humility. He stayed out of the spotlight and she had put her dream of studying marketing on hold to support her partner in his career, writes Gazeta Express.
Their wedding, held just ten days ago in Porto, was the culmination of their love, a ceremony filled with emotion, laughter and the people they loved the most.
