PDK MP Ferat Shala spoke today in the Kosovo Assembly about concerns he said were technical in the work of the Government.
He said that with this logic and program that he saw in the proposed budget for 2026, this Government will face the same challenges.
Shala spoke about the energy sector.
"In the table I see that ERO has -16.29% of planned funds this year. Tell me, Prime Minister, how are you going to manage the energy sector, when you have strangled the regulatory agency, and you started like that earlier, and now you are faced with the situation that you will not even have the revenues that you had. This is direct dependence on executive institutions, this is for the regulator to lose its independence and be forced to go to the companies that are now in March to increase our prices, for the Regulator to evaluate the offers and proposals that the service companies make", he said.
He asked Kurti what the autonomy of ERO is that it will now assess the price of energy, when its revenues have been reduced.
"There are also few professional staff, you have been stifling it for 5 years now, you are obliged to perform illegal services in the assessment of maximum revenues and today you are still putting financial pressure on us so that in March they will raise our prices again. This is flagrant interference in the work of the regulator, which is hanging and carrying your policy on itself. I recommend that you change your approach, because the Constitution has foreseen a regulator. If you suffocate the regulator, you have suffocated the sector and the economy", added Shala.
