The Vetëvendosje Movement's nominee for President, Minister Glauk Konjufca, today again said that he would withdraw from the candidacy if the opposition proposed a name, but this time he was more specific: the candidate must be non-partisan.
While speaking on this topic, Konjufca was asked by journalists whether the leader of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, would be acceptable for President.
"I don't know, we haven't talked in this dimension. I just said the opposite. We've been on two tracks. The first track, if it's political, the Vetëvendosje Movement has gone with its own proposal. They're asking me to be the speaker of parliament, now I don't know why you don't like me as president."
As a second option, Konjufca listed the option of a non-partisan candidate.
"On the other hand, he is non-partisan. If you are saying non-partisan, you are saying Mr. Abdixhiku...", he addressed the journalist who asked him about Abdixhiku.
"Within the framework of the political agreement," Konjufca was asked again.
"This is something else now. A political agreement for a party president, this hasn't been opened up yet, I think."
"If it is non-partisan, I resign from my candidacy. I resign because there is one for everyone, who am I to block the way." /Express/
