A pregnant woman, who is renovating her first home with her husband, has shared her joy after deciding to remove an old carpet and made an unexpected discovery.
Home renovation projects are often long and tedious, bringing unexpected expenses, structural problems, and other repairs. But every now and then, the results can be extraordinary — like for this woman and her husband.
Sarah Henry, a wedding planner, and her husband Kyle Ryan are documenting their experience online while Sarah is pregnant with their first child. They have been sharing regular updates on social media, and a recent TikTok video has amassed over 1.3 million views.
In the video released, a large room is covered in thick blue carpet. Sarah's caption above the video reads:
"When you're pregnant, you should definitely check to see if there's wood flooring under the carpet."
Sarah is shown removing the carpet from a corner of the room, and when she sees the wooden floor, she says:
"Yes, we have it! There is wood!"
The video ends with the blue carpet completely removed, revealing the hardwood floor in pristine condition. Sarah, Kyle and their family members cleaned the surface, removing the carpet debris.

In the video description, Sarah wrote:
“When you're stubborn and have to pull the rug yourself [crying and laughing emoji]. The wood angels have blessed us!!!!!! It's just perfect.”
Many TikTok users reacted with various comments:
“WHO, actually WHO put this blue rug on this wooden floor [crying emoji]? I will never understand lol.”
“You hit the jackpot!”
"Go buy a lottery ticket!"
Some others shared their experiences:
"My husband always says we should take the carpet off because he thinks there's wood underneath. This gives me hope that it might not turn into a disaster lol."
"I'm also pregnant and yesterday I saw our floor under the carpet, also gorgeous wood! Very exciting!"
However, not everyone is a fan of wooden floors. One user wrote:
“I wish my house had carpet instead of wood… I’ve slipped a few times and I don’t like it at all.”
This case shows that sometimes bold decisions during renovation can pay off in unexpected and satisfying ways. /GazetaExpress/
