A dog lover adopted a Golden Retriever puppy and was amazed by its size just six months later.
These dogs are extremely beloved by families for their gentle, friendly, and loyal nature, as well as their emotional intelligence, making them an ideal choice for a pet.
The breed is known for its long, golden hair and large size, but one woman was shocked when she weighed her seven-month-old puppy. Katie, known on TikTok as @barkstreetboys_, has long experience with dogs and currently has four Golden Retrievers, including brothers Rory and Enzo, the newest additions to the family.
Although the brothers have been getting the same amount of food since Katie and her husband brought them home, Enzo is noticeably bigger than his brother. They even "double-checked the scale" in a hilarious video shared on TikTok, where they weigh their seven-month-old puppy.
In the clip, which has so far been viewed over 62,000 times, Katie's husband is seen holding Enzo and standing on the scale, while the dog looks at the camera with a bored look, adding a humorous dimension to the video. By subtracting his husband's weight from what the scale showed, they realized that their pup weighs over 38 kg (about 85 lbs).

Katie wrote on the video: "The moment we had to double check the scale. 7 months and 38.7 kg." In the description she added: "If you had a Golden Retriever puppy that weighed this much, how big will it get when it grows up?"
In the TikTok comments, one user wrote: "Our show-bred Golden was just as big as a puppy! Now he weighs 42 kg and looks perfect, he's not fat, he's just big."
Katie replied: "Is he thin? Enzo is tall, with a big head, big feet and broad shoulders! His brother is much lighter and has a different build."
Some users called Enzo "very handsome" and "a little fat", while another commented: "What a big boy! He's amazing!"
Some were concerned about the dog's weight, which prompted his caregiver, Megan, to clarify: "I can say as Enzo's caregiver that he is not overweight and his vet has confirmed this. Katie and her family have had this line of retrievers for years and know how to take care of them."
Megan also added a photo of Enzo lying on his back on a rug, showing him looking much thinner. She added: "Please be careful what you say about others, especially without knowing the full story - here's another photo that shows the opposite of what others have suggested."
