New documents released by the US Department of Justice shed light on the inner circle of the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, convicted of sex crimes and trafficking.
The files show that Epstein had connections to powerful figures such as Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, while his day-to-day activities were managed by a small group of associates.
Documents show that his associates handled finances, travel and the organization of meetings, including booking massages where, according to the victims, the abuse occurred.
The only member of this circle to be convicted is his former partner Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking. Several of the associates are expected to testify before the US Congress in the coming months as investigations into Epstein's network continue.
