The social network WhatsApp is updating the operating system and will no longer work on some old iPhone models, writes "Mobiletelco".
From February 24, 2025, the minimum requirement for WhatsApp on iPhone devices will be to install the iOS 14.1 operating system.
This means that iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 Plus and older models will not be able to use WhatsApp as they cannot be updated to the required operating system version.
As the main reason for this decision, the social network that is managed by Meta mentions the security of users and says that the old operating systems do not meet all the necessary standards for the necessary functions.
For Android users, there are no new system requirements – just have Android 5.0 and you can use WhatsApp.
