Many people think that depression is simply a feeling of sadness, but in fact depression is a much more serious condition than emotions that come and go in reaction to life events.

For those who suffer from depression, this condition is a constant feeling of emptiness, dissatisfaction, and hopelessness, which becomes a constant part of everyday life!

This condition affects the individual in many areas of life: at work, in the family, and in relationships with other people, and can manifest itself in the following ways:

There is no pleasure or joy in life. A person with depression may not enjoy the things they once enjoyed and may feel like they have no interest in anything.

Concentration and decision-making become more difficult. People cannot think clearly or follow what is happening around them.

Everything seems hopeless: Depression can make people feel like there is no way to feel good or happy again.

Self-esteem is often lacking: People with depression may feel like they are worthless or a failure at everything and cannot see positive qualities in themselves.

Sleep can be difficult: Falling asleep or staying asleep throughout the night can seem almost impossible. One person may wake up early and be unable to fall back asleep. Others may oversleep but still wake up feeling tired.

Energy levels and the will to take initiative are low. Some people have difficulty getting out of bed or feel exhausted all the time, even when they get enough sleep, and are too tired to do simple, everyday tasks.

Some people with depression feel like they don't want to eat anything and have to force themselves to eat. This can result in weight loss. Others may overeat, seeking temporary emotional relief, leading to weight gain.

Some people experience headaches, nausea, body aches, and other physical pain along with depression.

Some others feel like their lives have no meaning and may have thoughts of hurting themselves or ending their lives!

This condition can be treated with psychotherapy, which can ease the suffering and heavy emotional burden caused by depression. In some more severe cases, treatment with medication from a psychiatrist is also needed. The condition of depression itself makes it difficult to seek help, but it is not impossible to take the first step!
