When Van Gogh moved to the city of Arles, in the south of France, in early 1888, he was experiencing a turbulent emotional, artistic, and personal period.
During this period he developed a special bond with Joseph Roulin, a local postman who, unlike most of his friends in the arts, did not come from the gallery or art world. But Roulin became Van Gogh's "guardian angel."
What did Rowlin do?
Roulin ensured that Van Gogh received the medical care he needed during his most difficult moments, including accommodation in a psychiatric hospital.
He visited Van Gogh almost regularly and wrote to the artist's brother, Theo Van Gogh, to provide information about his condition.
When van Gogh was released from the hospital, Roulin was by his side and helped him stabilize his daily life.
So in a world where artists are often seen only as eccentric creators, this story reminds us that behind every great creation there may be someone who is not a "star", but is a supporter, a friend, a good listener.
It shows that the artistic spirit flourishes not only from individual talent, but also from the compassion and support of others. /Konica.al
