Asked by A2CNN journalist Fjorela Beleshi whether the alert they announced last night relates to any specific threat or credible information related to Albania, or is it a preliminary warning in the context of broader regional developments, a US embassy official said that "we will provide more information as soon as it is available."
“The Trump Administration has no higher priority than the safety and security of Americans. We are working closely with Albanian authorities to assess the situation and mitigate security risks. The United States Embassy appreciates its close cooperation on security matters with the Government of Albania, which has demonstrated a continued commitment to ensuring the safety of American citizens and all residents of Albania. We will provide more information as it becomes available,” the response states.
