The Mayor of Leposavic, Lulzim Hetemi, is proud of the work he has done during his time governing the northern municipality. He says he has employed hundreds of Serbs and opened new businesses in the Municipality of Leposavic.

He took on the task under extraordinary circumstances.

For several months, it was even closed in the municipality due to protests by Serbian residents.

But after two years, a completely different atmosphere appears in the municipality of Leposavic, which is led by Lulzim Hetemi.

Hetemi admits that he faced many challenges at first, but he says that over time the situation changed for the better.

"The beginning was more difficult, you know there were many protests. But now I feel much better because there is security and we can focus on work. I can say that it is better in Leposaviq than in some other municipalities," said Hetemi.

The first of Leposavic shows that during the time he governed the northern municipality, Albanians and Serbs had a good spirit of cooperation.

"We have employed around 150 workers, mainly from the Serbian community. Among other things, we have also opened new businesses where Serbs are employed," Hetemi continued.

The investigation reveals whether he will re-enter the race for mayor of Leposavic.

"I have not yet decided whether I will run for mayor again, I will make a decision in a few weeks," Hetemi concluded, among other things.

We recall that the mayors of the northern municipalities were elected by the candidates of Albanian parties after those from Serbian parties boycotted the elections of April 23, 2023.
