The University Clinic for Urology today promoted the completely new renovated infrastructure of the hospital. At the event, it was emphasized that it is part of a wider investment and reform cycle, which includes modernization and advancement of health services, working conditions and decent conditions for patients. In the presence of the Director of the Clinic, Bashkim Shabani, the Prime Minister – Hristian Mickoski, the Minister of Health, Azir Aliu, the Director of the Health Insurance Fund – Sasho Klekovski, the Deputy Prime Minister for Good Governance Arben Fetai and the Deputy Minister of Health, Jovica Andonovski, it was emphasized that the number of medical teams, modern practices and humane care for patients have increased.

The medical wards have been completely renovated with a total investment of 300 thousand euros. Of this amount, 100 thousand euros were provided from the fund accounts, 100 thousand through donations, and the remaining 1000 thousand from the Clinic's own funds.

The spaces have been completely transformed into hospital rooms, arranged like apartments.

On this occasion, it was emphasized that the University Clinic of Urology distinguished itself, with these important investments, staff reinforcements and the introduction of modern medical practices, positioning itself as a national leader in the field of urology.

Director Shabani also presented plans for the development of the Transplant Center and the Calculus Center, with a focus on improving kidney transplantation as a common challenge.

The Director of the Health Insurance Fund, Klekovski, emphasized that the Urology Clinic is an example of the model promoted by the Government, health authorities and the Fund: increased funding for public health institutions that allows for regular maintenance of space and equipment, as well as conditional funding from the Health Insurance Fund for the introduction of new methods. He added that the new methods are part of the package for supporting cancer patients, which also includes methods from the Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic, the Thoracic Surgery Clinic and the Plastic Surgery Clinic.

"This project confirms the commitment of the Urology Clinic to improving healthcare and introducing innovative solutions for patients," Klekovski emphasized.

Minister Aliu said that this clinic, in terms of infrastructure, truly meets all European standards. The technologies and methodologies were in line with the needs of patients and in accordance with European protocols.

"Step by step, healthcare is becoming closer to everyone," said the minister, announcing a presentation of other successful projects.

Prime Minister Mickoski also expressed his satisfaction with this, as he said, very positive work, something impressive. He emphasized that he will continue with this dynamic in the future.

"For me, it is, first of all, an honor, and then a pleasure that, at the invitation of the director, together with colleagues from the Government, with the director of the Fund and other employees in this clinic, we can visit, inspect another truly very positive work, here at the Clinical Center, the Urology Clinic. What we managed to see and what the director and his collaborators have accomplished here, is something that brings us one step closer to European healthcare, namely the conditions we saw, all the equipment and methodologies are truly impressive," Mickoski underlined.

According to him, these are the results we expect. He is convinced that we will continue with the same dynamics.

"Our main focus is, of course, the development of the state and within this focus, health also has an important place, I would even say one of the most important. The Budget allocates large funds, even record ones, for health. And I have nothing left but to congratulate the director and staff of the Clinic. I thank the minister, the deputy, the director of the Fund and all those who have their part in everything that is being done in health. I know that these may be small steps, but big in the sense that nothing has been done for years, but they are undoubtedly steps that bring us closer and closer to the quality that citizens should feel when receiving health care," he added.

The Prime Minister warned that they will continue with the same dynamics in the following period and that intensive investment in healthcare is being planned, here is the Clinical Hospital in Shtip, together with the Faculty of Medicine and the student dormitory in Shtip. Here is the hospital in Kicevo, together with the Health House. Here is also the Clinical Hospital and the reconstruction of the Clinical Hospital in Tetovo, so, in a broader sense, in the following period we will witness such processes.
