The vice-chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo and number two on this party's list for the June 7 snap parliamentary elections, Uran Ismaili, has stated that Prime Minister Albin Kurti should face off in a debate with the PDK's candidate for prime minister, Bedri Hamza.
"It would be good if Mr. Kurti was not afraid to debate with Bedri Hamza. Let him debate and not close himself off to his own MPs, who applaud everything he says," Ismaili said.
He also spoke about his experience after returning to the Assembly, commenting on the functioning of the Vetëvendosje parliamentary group.
"After my return to parliament after four years, I have seen that there is everything there, but not democracy. The same mentality is now being tried to be carried over into society, where there is a constant attempt to tarnish other positions," he said.
According to Ismail, if Kurti has the self-confidence and willingness to confront political opponents, then he should be willing to participate in public debates.
"If he has that much self-confidence and thinks he's ready to face anyone, then he should go out in debates," he added.
