Kosovo Police, in close cooperation with Kosovo Customs, announces that it has successfully carried out an operation at the Hani i Elezit border crossing point, preventing a case of smuggling of undeclared gold.
Today, at around 16:10, based on intelligence information, "a bus on the regular Serbia - North Macedonia route, driven by a citizen of Serbia (ML), was stopped for inspection on the second line," the police announced.
During the detailed search, "various gold ornaments (pendants and rings) were discovered in the bag of a passenger (JH), hidden in a closed bag. Also, several bracelets and a gold medallion were found hidden in the bus driver's jacket," the announcement continues.
The total weight of the seized gold is 129.76 grams. It was not declared and has been confiscated by customs authorities for further procedures, while the value will be determined by the relevant Kosovo Customs units, the announcement states.
