US Vice President JD Vance said marathon talks with Iran did not lead to an agreement to finally end the war.

"We've been in talks for 21 hours and have had a number of substantive discussions with the Iranians. That's the good news," Vance said during a press conference in Islamabad.

“The bad news is that we didn’t reach a deal,” he said. “And I think that’s more bad news for Iran than for the United States of America. So we go back to the United States without a deal.”

Vice President JD Vance said Iranian negotiators refused to accept US terms for a deal, which he insisted had been "quite flexible".

“We were quite cooperative. The president told us, ‘You have to come here in good faith and make your best effort to reach an agreement.’ We did that and, unfortunately, we were unable to make any progress,” he said.

Vance suggested that the main point of disagreement was Iran's refusal to give up its nuclear program.

“We leave here with a very simple proposal, a way of understanding that is our final and best offer,” he said. “We’ll see if the Iranians accept it.”
