UNICEF, financially supported by Comodita Home, has organized a training for 30 educators in Elbasan, focusing on children's creativity and potential.
"UNICEF, with the financial support of Comodita Home and in collaboration with implementing partner YWCA Albania and the Municipality of Elbasan, organized a training with 30 kindergarten educators from Elbasan on the Reggio Emilia approach, led by Mr. Cristian Fabbi, director of Reggio Children," reads a post by UNICEF Albania on Facebook.
Educators in this training learned practical ways to implement the curriculum for children aged 3–6, "centering the potential, curiosity, and creativity of each child."
“The Reggio Emilia approach, developed by Loris Malaguzzi, sees the child as the protagonist of learning and values the '100 languages of children' – the many ways in which they express themselves, explore and learn through play, art, music, movement, nature and collaboration.”
“Mr. Cristian Fabbi emphasized the importance of the environment as the 'third teacher', showing how indoor and outdoor spaces can be created to foster exploration, creativity and interaction among children. He also highlighted the role of educators to listen, support and document children's learning process, focusing on the journey and not the outcome.”
The post states that the treatment brought about inspiring reflections and ideas about the ways in which play and recyclable materials make learning more joyful and meaningful.
