The Basic Prosecution Office in Mitrovica has announced that two suspected doctors from the hospital in Vushtrri, with the initials ES and VR, have been arrested, on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of "Accepting a Bribe".
According to initial suspicions, suspect ES in three cases, and suspect VR in five cases, have requested and accepted money from citizens for the provision of health services.
By decision of the prosecutor, the suspects have been ordered to be detained for 48 hours, while a request for the imposition of a security measure for the detainees will be submitted within the legal deadline.
"The Basic Prosecution Office in Mitrovica remains committed to fighting corruption, abuse of official duty and any other form of criminality that violates the rule of law, public safety and citizens' trust in public institutions," the announcement states.
