US President Donald Trump says that almost "everything is ruined" in Iran.
He points out that Iran now no longer has a navy, an air force, or the capacity to detect airstrikes.
"Almost everything is destroyed," Trump stressed, speaking at a press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
Trump was asked what the worst-case scenario is that the United States is prepared for.
He responded that the worst-case scenario is that "we do this and someone takes power who is just as bad as the previous person."
Trump added that they had several people in mind who could lead the country, but that they are now dead.
Trump was asked if he considered Reza Pahlavi, the son of Iran's last shah, as a possible alternative to lead the country in the future.
In response, he said that although "some people like it," in his opinion the best scenario would be for "someone who is already inside the country" to take power.
Trump also spoke about his relations with Germany, which he said has a "great closeness" to the US.
