Former Kosovo Minister of Foreign Affairs, Petrit Selimi, has written about Kosovo's involvement in US President Donald Trump's initiative to establish the Peace Board.
At the inaugural meeting to be held in February, Selimi says that it will most likely be a fundraising meeting for Gaza and thus President Vjosa Osmani will need to coordinate with Kurti's government.
In addition, Selimi said that this trip to the US will most likely be a new opportunity for Osmani to use a meeting with Trump for her bid for a new mandate.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has not shown enthusiasm for Osman's decision to join the Peace Board.
"We first started with our participation in the International Stabilization Force for Gaza, and there I know that Kosovo was represented at the conference in Doha in Qatar by the KSF Lieutenant General, Bashkim Jashari. We as Kosovo have expressed our willingness to participate in this International Stabilization Force, where of course the KSF is well known for search and rescue and demining, and not only" - declared Kurti on 30.01.2026.
Seems Osmani may have one more chance to press her case for a new mandate with President Trump in a few weeks, as she's expected to attend the "Inaugural Meeting of the Board of Peace".
