The leaders of the United States and China, Donald Trump and Xi Jinping, are expected to hold talks this week, in their first face-to-face meeting in more than six months.
According to Reuters reports, the meeting is expected to last two days and the discussions will focus on a number of issues of global importance, including the situation in Iran, Taiwan, artificial intelligence and nuclear weapons.
The parties are also expected to discuss the extension of a critical agreement regarding minerals, at a time when relations between the two countries continue to be tense.
The talks come at a challenging period for US-China relations, affected by trade disputes and geopolitical developments in the Middle East and Asia.
