The reigning champion and winner of the Kosovo Cup in basketball, Trepça, is continuing in top form.

Trepça on Wednesday night, although with difficulty, managed to win a tough away match against GO+ Peja.

With the victory that was decided after overtime, Trepça confirmed its continued dominance in the Kosovo basketball elite.

At the "Karagaçi" gym in Peja, as part of the 22nd round of the Kosovo Basketball Super League, Trepça recorded its 13th consecutive victory, a run that began on December 10 with a victory over Baksimi. The Mitrovica team won against Peja with a score of 98 - 95.

The hosts, who had reinforcements before the winter transfer window closed, managed to win the first quarter with a score of 20-13.

But, Trepça made the difference in the result in the second period, which they won 29-18, to go into the break with a four-point difference, 42-38.

The third quarter belonged to the Peja team 26 - 24, and in the last ten minutes of the match they entered with a two-point disadvantage, 66 - 64.

Even 7 and a half minutes before the end, Peja took the lead 71 - 70 with Musab Mala's points.

It was Mala who, one second before the end of the match, accurately shot a three-pointer for 87-87 to send the match into overtime.

Even the overtime was decided in the last seconds.

Ja'Cori Payne, six seconds before the end of the entire confrontation, scored a three-pointer for 98 – 95, a result with which the game ended.

Cecil Williams' attempt to equalize the score was inaccurate and the three-point victory went to the visitors.

Payne was the standout in Trepca's victory.

He scored 27 points and contributed five rebounds and three assists.

Kenny Hasbrouck contributed 16 points, five rebounds and as many assists to the victory.

Cesare Edwards excelled in Peja, but his 30 points and 17 assists weren't enough to avoid defeat. He finished the game with two more assists.

Trepça continues to lead the elite with 41 points, after 19 wins and three losses. Peja is in fourth place with 32 points./Express newspaper/
