Eight people have been arrested by the capital's police after using their children, aged 9-11, to work and beg, mainly at night.

According to the Blues' announcement, 4 of them have been left with the security measure 'Arrest in prison'.

Meanwhile, 4 women aged 35 have been placed under house arrest.

Tirana/The operation codenamed "Filizat" is being finalized by Police Station No. 2 and the Prosecutor's Office.

Individually and in groups, they used their 9-11 year old children to work and beg, mainly at night. Security measures were executed for 8 citizens (for 4 of them, "Arrest in prison").

As a result of the investigative and operational actions carried out by the services of Police Commissariat No. 2, under the direction of the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, with the aim of identifying and bringing to criminal responsibility citizens who exploit children to work and/or beg, the operation codenamed "Filizat" was finalized, during which the following security measures were executed:

-“Arrest in prison”, for citizens EB, 41 years old, RS, 35 years old, MR, 35 years old and MG, 34 years old;

-"House arrest", for citizens LB, 35 years old, AM, 41 years old, MS, 35 years old and A. Sh., 35 years old.

From the investigative actions lasting several months, it has emerged that these citizens, individually and in collaboration with each other, used their children aged 9-11 to work mainly at night, as well as to beg, in various areas under the jurisdiction of Police Commissariat No. 2.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action, for the criminal offense of "Ill-treatment of a minor".
