It has been three days since the election of Mojtaba Khamenei as Iran's supreme leader, and not a single photo or video of him has been released yet.
During wartime, security measures are noticeably tight, and Khamenei is expected to spend most of his time in shelters, but Iranian officials have given assurances that such materials will be released soon.
According to sources with knowledge of the situation, cited by the Jerusalem Post, Khamenei was injured during the conflict, but remains capable of carrying out his duties and managing state affairs.
Iranian state television reported on Monday that Khamenei had suffered an injury, although it did not provide details on the circumstances or the seriousness of it. It is not known when the injury occurred or whether it has affected his ability to exercise leadership duties, Panorama reports.
However, his absence from the public scene has fueled discussion and speculation. Critics of the regime argue that this absence raises questions about who really runs the Iranian government.
Some prominent Iranian opposition figures believe that another senior official could actually exercise power, while Khamenei acts mainly as a symbolic leader.
