A serious incident occurred this morning in Gjakova.
As a result of the gunfire, one person was killed and another was injured.
The incident occurred at around 05:30 on "Vëllezërit Frashëri" street, reports Indeksonline.
According to initial information, the victim in this case is: Rastim Binakaj, 38 years old.
Another person, 29 years old, the victim's brother, was also injured in this case.
The same person was wounded in the chest and was sent for further medical treatment.
The suspect in this case for the murder and injury that occurred in Gjakova is Nexhdet Zymberaj, the owner of the "My Place" cafe.
After the serious incident, Zymberaj is reported to have left the scene in an unknown direction and is being sought by the Kosovo Police.
Five firearm casings, as well as a sharp instrument (knife), were found and seized at the scene.
The Kosovo Police have also made statements regarding this.
"Today at around 05:30, we were informed that on the "Vëllezërit Frashëri" street in Gjakova, two adult males were shot with a firearm. As a result of the injuries received, one of them died at the scene (the medical team has confirmed his death). The other person was injured and was sent for medical treatment. The relevant police units responded immediately to the case and the state prosecutor was notified, who also went to the scene. The necessary investigative actions are currently being taken with the aim of arresting the suspect and fully clarifying the circumstances of the incident," said Shermet Elezi, spokesperson for the Regional Police in Gjakova.
