Ardian Gjini, vice president of AAK, held a press conference regarding the early elections.
He said they have met with the Alliance's Steering Council to suspend the party's internal electoral process.
"Today the Alliance's Steering Council has taken the first decision to suspend the internal electoral process. As you know, we have started this process, but since we will have national elections, we do not know the date, but we will have them, so it was interactive for us to suspend this process," said Gjini.
He said they are preparing for the new elections to win.
"On the other hand, we have also created teams for the elections, which are again our statutory and political obligations, such as the election headquarters and the approval of authorizations for the lists and for everything that awaits the Alliance in these elections. We are preparing, we are preparing for the elections, we will do our best, we will aim to win the elections. We are not aiming for anything else. What time will bring from now on, we will certainly inform you in time," he said.
Asked if these elections were avoidable, Gjini emphasized that yes, but Prime Minister Kurti and LVV made a serious mistake.
"Elections are always avoidable if the mandate of the Parliament has not yet ended. These elections were also avoidable. In one respect, it is unfortunate that they happened. We have expressed our opinions in public for a long time that the largest party, the party in power, has not had the will to find a way to avoid them. In a democracy, there is a need to find a way, to find a compromise, to find ways to govern for the country, not to occupy the country, not to occupy the institutions. We think that they have made a serious mistake. They have made a serious mistake, there were solutions, there were opportunities to avoid the elections, but now we are faced with the act of committing them", added Gjini. /eo
