A worker lost his life on Wednesday at his workplace in the industrial area of Shtime, in circumstances that are being investigated as a violation of occupational safety.
The serious incident reportedly occurred at the "Doni Fruits" company in Shtime.
The victim is Isuf Bislimi. As Sinjali reported, he is suspected of being severely hit in the head by the hydraulic door of a truck that closed while he was working in the warehouse. He was initially taken to the emergency room in Shtime and then to Ferizaj, but did not survive his injuries.
Two people were interviewed during the investigation, according to Sinjali, while the afternoon shift manager was arrested and detained for 48 hours.
Gazeta Express attempted to get a statement from the company. A woman who introduced herself on the phone as “part of the staff” said she was not authorized to speak when asked for information about this case, adding that she was on vacation at the time of contact.
"I'm sorry, I'm not authorized to give information. I'm currently on vacation," she said.
The Ferizaj Police announced last night that a case has been initiated for workplace safety violations, destruction or damage to protective equipment.
Spokesperson Kanun Veseli said that investigators, forensic experts, and labor inspectors had arrived at the scene and begun examining the circumstances.
By order of the prosecutor, the dead body was sent for autopsy.
