Martin Vulaj, president of the Council on Albanian-American Relations, said that in each department of the American state, there is always more than just one line of influence.
He made these comments on the "Info Magazine" show on Klan Kosova, talking about the possibility of reducing the number of American troops in KFOR.
"There is always more than one line of influence in administrations. For example, during the Kosovo war, before NATO's intervention, there was Mrs. Allbright's line, which was more aggressive in favor of intervention, and Ambassador Holbrooke's line, which was more Serbo-centrist, and pressured not to intervene militarily. Fortunately, Mrs. Allbright's line won out."
"Even in this time of global recalibration of the US geopolitical strategy, I have emphasized that America is in a phase of recalibrating all of its resources around the world, towards a confrontation with China, and here we have seen evidence in the US approach to the war in Ukraine, that they have an interest in stopping that war and stabilizing that situation as much as possible, because they no longer see Russia as a threat with global capacity," Vulaj declared, reported Klankosova.tv.
He said that both the case of Venezuela and the case of Iran are about oil, and specifically the oil that China receives from these countries.
"In this context, both other resources and military bases around the world, by reducing the threat from Russia, this line that favored the withdrawal of troops from Kosovo, sees that there is less need to reduce military bases around Europe, including the soldiers in Kosovo, to reorient and position them in another country that reinforces this confrontation with China," Martin Vulaj emphasized.
Speaking about the letter that Republican and Democratic senators sent to Secretary of State Marco Rubio to not withdraw troops from Kosovo, which also includes a message stating that "Tensions between ethnic Serb communities in northern Kosovo continue amid ongoing actions by the central government of Kosovo that continue to worsen the situation in the communities", Vulaj said: "I was afraid that the importance of this message would be lost in the debates, precisely because it comes from our friends."
"This part is very important, because our friends are criticizing us, that we are raising the level of tension. The level of tension, not only for the internal significance of Kosovo, but for the significance of the friendship we have with the US, and our willingness to work very closely as partners, to always keep in mind, not only our interests, but also those of our main ally. We must play the right role to help these interests."
"The Prime Minister today made some concessions to the Serbs. This can be criticized in a political aspect because of the promises he made before, but it is a signal of cooperation. Such things should also be done with the US, to raise the level of cooperation and friendship, because when we then insist on keeping their troops, we have a different communication capacity because of the level of friendship and partnership that we have", said Vulaj. /Klankosova.tv
