Rasim Binakaj, the 38-year-old who was killed by gunfire, is the uncle of former Big Brother VIP Kosova 4 finalist, Elijona Binakaj.
Their relationship was learned from searches on social media, where it was seen that in 2021, the now deceased, had announced the tragic accident in Croatia, where Elijona's mother and sister were killed, reports Insajderi.
Research has shown that the deceased also has photographs with the former resident's father.
The news was confirmed by the Police spokesperson for the Gjakova region, Sheremet Elezaj, who provided details about the murder that occurred on "Vëllezërit Frashëri" street.
"Today at around 05:30, we were informed that on 'Vëllezërit Frashëri' street in Gjakova, two adult males were shot with firearms. As a result of the injuries sustained, one of them died at the scene (the medical team has confirmed his death). The other person was injured and was sent for medical treatment," Elezaj announced.
Meanwhile, Nexhdet Zymberaj, the owner of the "My Place" bar in Gjakova, where the fight is suspected to have taken place, is being sought as a suspect in his murder.
Elezaj added that the suspect is being sought by the Kosovo Police and that all necessary investigative actions are being taken to locate and capture him.
Material evidence, including gun casings and a sharp instrument, was seized at the scene, while the prosecution has classified the case as "Aggravated Murder."
