The Basic Court in Gjakova has ordered a one-month detention order for the defendant MS, who is suspected of sexually assaulting his minor daughter.
According to the Prosecution's request, among other things, it is noted that on April 1, 2026, the defendant is suspected of having acted inappropriately and without the consent of the minor, his daughter, by using inappropriate content and making unacceptable requests. After the incident, the minor notified the other parent and the case was reported to the police.
The court's announcement states that due to the sensitivity of the case and to protect the privacy and dignity of the persons involved, especially the minor, details have been limited. The case is being handled by the competent authorities.
The pre-trial judge, Drilon Haraçija, after holding the hearing, assessed that the legal conditions for imposing detention on the defendant have been met.
With this decision, the defendant MS will be held in custody for a period of one (1) month, a period that will be calculated from the date of arrest on April 07, 2026 to May 06, 2026.
The parties have the right to appeal this decision to the Court of Appeal of Kosovo.
