As the Serie A season enters its final weeks, there is still much to play for.
The championship winner may already be known, but the competition for the places that send them to the Champions League is getting hotter and hotter.
Inter are now guaranteed first place in the table after a 2-0 win against Parma, which secured the Scudetto.
This leaves three more qualifying spots in play, with five teams fighting for them.
But which team has the best chance of finishing in the top four? Here's a closer look at the remaining matches for each team in the competition and who is most likely to qualify.
Napoli – 70 points
Antonio Conte's side may have failed to defend their title, but they look almost certain of a Champions League place. A goalless draw against Como means they need just one win and a draw from their remaining three games to guarantee a top-four spot.
Napoli face ninth-placed Bologna in their next match, but an away game against struggling Pisa looks like their best chance of victory. They then play Udinese in their final match, although that could be a potential setback for their rivals, as the Friulians won 1-0 when the two sides met in December 2025.
Milan – 67 points
A win against Sassuolo would have brought Milan very close to qualifying, but the defeat has increased the pressure. Now just three points ahead of fifth-placed Roma, the Rossoneri must react quickly after this disappointment.
Fortunately, although the upcoming match against Atalanta will be difficult, the last two challenges of the season look much easier.
Milan travel to Genoa on May 17 before hosting Cagliari at San Siro in their final game of the season. Both teams are in the bottom half of the table and, despite Genoa managing a 1-1 draw in the first leg in January, the 19-time champions will remain optimistic about their chances.
Juventus – 65 points
Milan's failure to beat Sassuolo could have been punished if Juventus had won against Verona. However, despite the 1-1 draw, the Old Lady should feel more optimistic. Although they are only a point ahead of Roma, Luciano Spalletti's side will now only play against teams in the bottom half of the table.
Lecce could be a potential trap, but the win over Pisa was their only win in their last seven games. Juventus will also be heavy favorites in the games against Fiorentina and Torino.
With Juventus being the Serie A team with the most fans in the world, fans around the globe will benefit from betting bonuses to back Juve to qualify for the Champions League. They have a lot of factors in their favor, but only time will tell if they can pull it off successfully.
Rome – 64 points
Roma may have lost four more games than Como, but the Giallorossi remain among the teams fighting for the Champions League. It has been seven seasons since they last played in the competition, but if things go their way, that wait could be over.
A win against Fiorentina has lifted them up to fifth place, but there is no doubt that their path to the top four is more difficult than that of their rivals. They first face Parma away, before the "Derby della Capitale" against Lazio.
However, Roma have not lost to their rivals since January 2024 and will be confident of continuing that streak in pursuit of European football. If the teams above them drop more points, then everything could be decided in the final game of the season against Verona on May 24.
Como – 62 points
A win against Napoli would have put Como in complete control of the Champions League race. Now, the Larians must win all nine possible points from their final three games and hope that the other teams do them favors if they are to have any chance.
Cesc Fabregas – who recently rejected a move to Chelsea – has a squad with enough quality to win three games in a row, and the remaining schedule also favours success. They face bottom-of-the-table Verona and Cremonese, while in between they play at home to 12th-placed Parma, who they haven't lost to since 2023 in Serie B. However, the Lombardy club have a big mountain to climb to qualify for the Champions League./Express newspaper/
