Pristina - Invited to the "Tempus" show on T7, the Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, Arianit Salihu, explained the interview of the owner of "Albanian Post", Baton Haxhiu as a witness to clarify his statement in "Pressing".

"The actions that the State Prosecutor undertakes within the framework of authorizations are guaranteed both by the Constitution and by other legislation that regulates the issue of the State Prosecutor. In any case when we as the prosecutor assess that there may be incriminating elements, whether in public debates or in any form, we are obliged to react, even for the specific case that has become media coverage, an authorization has been issued to interview the person who has just been mentioned, for issues that we have considered whether there may or may not be elements of a criminal offense," said Salihu.

Salihu further added that the case has not been prosecuted, reports "Oath for Justice".

"In such cases, we have also acted against other people, not only against the person you are mentioning, but we have also reacted in other cases when such debates have taken place on shows. The claims that the case has been criminally prosecuted are unfounded, the case has not yet been criminally prosecuted. Questions have been asked during interviews by police officers and investigators, which we will analyze to assess whether there is anything incriminating or not," Salihu added.

Baton Haxhiu, interviewed as a witness at the Prosecution regarding his statement on "Pressing" on T7, explained in an OP/ED in Express that the expression "get rid of it" was used in a figurative and political sense, implying two options for citizens: either to give strong support to a governing majority, or to demand its removal through a vote and political change, emphasizing that it is not a direct call, but a criticism of the situation of political fatigue and the lack of solutions in governance.
